MARIA ROKITA Peacefully on April 12, 2006, Maria passed away at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 76. She was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1985 and sister Bernice (Basha) Kramarz in 1980. Maria is survived by nephew Roman (Lynne) and their children, Braden, Rylee and Megan; and numerous other relatives in Poland. Maria was born May 2, 1929 in Kosow, Poland and came to Canada in 1970. Later she met and married her loving husband, Henry. Maria was a long time member of the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic and Polish Combatants Association Branch 13. She worked at the bingo at Club 13 for numerous years, also had a great interest in astrology and was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed her meeting her friends for coffee at Eaton's downtown. The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with an Oblate Father as celebrant. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria's memory to the Children's Hospital Foundation, CE 501, 840 Sherbrook St. Winnipeg MB R3A 1S1.
